Should I get insurance?
Ultimately it is your choice, but we would recommend it.
Do I need a visa to visit South Africa?
Some countries are exempt from visa requirements. To access the official visa exemption list: https://www.dha.gov.za/index.php/immigration-services/exempt-countries
Flights?
International and domestic flights or air charters before and after the safari are not included. The closest international airports are OR Tambo in Johannesburg (5-hour drive) and Polokwane (1,5-hour drive). You will be met at either of these airports.
Will we need to get our own transportation to and from the Airport?
No, one of our staff members will pick you up at the airport and drop you off at the airport.
Should I change foreign currency on entering the country?
Yes, you will need some money for tips and personal purchases. Otherwise, credit cards are widely accepted.
What can my family do if they come along?
Your family can join us in the field or enjoy a personal sightseeing tour. Please refer to our Game Drives section for more details. There’s plenty to explore around the lodge, with abundant birdlife and game often passing right in front. For relaxation, they can take a dip in the swimming pool or enjoy the TV and pool table in the Lapa.
Are alcoholic drinks included?
Yes, alcoholic drinks, soda, juice and bottled water is available.
What if I have food allergies?
You should inform us in advance of your food allergies and our kitchen staff will adjust the food and preparation of food accordingly.
Should I take any special medical precautions?
The Alldays region is a low-risk malaria area, consulting with your medical practitioner is best.
Is the water safe for drinking?
Yes, the water is pumped from a borehole that has been tested. We also supply bottled water on all occasions.
What about poisonous snakes?
Yes, we do have some poisonous snakes. Fortunately, however, they are hibernating during the time of the year that hunting takes place, and it is extremely rare to even see one.
Can I get insect repellant there or should I bring it from home?
Insect repellent is available at the lodge
Should I bring my own gun?
You can hire a gun with us or import your own. (Download import license application)
When is the hunting season?
Our best months are from April through to the end of September; these are our cooler winter months. Not much rain is experienced during this time.
What hunting methods are used?
We primarily use spot and stalk methods. 4×4 hunting vehicles are used to get to good areas to start walking or until game is spotted. Additionally, several hides are strategically placed across the area for optimal hunting opportunities. Hunting methods can be tailored to suit the fitness levels of our clients. We offer both rifle and bow hunting options.
What is the cost of hiring firearms?
The costs depend on the exchange rate, to enquire about the current rates please send an email.
How long will the hunting shots be?
Between 50 and 200 yards, the average being just over a 100 yards.
Do we eat the game we shoot/ what happens to the meat?
We have different options for how the meat is used. Much of the game can be prepared in different outstanding ways – this adds to the experience of the hunt. No meat is wasted.
Is a 7-day hunt 7 full days of hunting or does that include the day of arrival and departure?
A 7 day hunt means 7 hunting days excludes arrival and departure.
What if I met the quota of my hunting package before the end of the trip?
You can either hunt extra trophies, relax around the lodge or do some of the other services we have to offer.
What do the PH’s / guides normally get tipped?
We recommend 10% of the total hunt/ safari coast which will be shared fairly amongst the PH and camp staff.
